University Business School answersheets go missing
The suspicious disappearance of answersheets from University Business School and their dramatic reappearance has posed uncomfortable questions for authorities, especially because no FIR was lodged following the incident.
Papers for management and organisation exam of four students went missing on November 21, forcing officials to consider the test null and void. However, when the answersheets magically reappeared at the same place the next day, the school set up a panel to probe the matter and decide whether a reexam had to held. With the report out, the exam stood cancelled and UBS superintendent suspended.
In all this, UBS did not follow one of its rules that of getting an FIR registered when such an incident occurs. The unsolved mystery behind the answersheets disappearing for a full 24 hours has led to many people doubting the authenticity of the exams result.
The invigilator at the examination centre for MBA semester I (human resources) had noticed that the sheets were missing when he tried to tally their number with the attendance record. Departmentss chairperson Dinesh Gupta was told and he contacted PUs controller of examinations.
Gupta told, The sheets were found on November 22. PU vice-chancellor RC Sobti then formed a committee to look into the situation. University Institute of Applied Management Sciences director AK Sahijpal, PU controller of examinations AK Bhandari, MS Bains of department of laws and Gupta were on it.
